Slip masterbatch containing 7.5% refined Oleamide, based in a LDPE carrier resin of MFI 7. This masterbatch reduces the coefficient of friction between layers of films. It is compatible with all grades of PE and EVA. It is used with antiblocking agents when required. The masterbatch may contribute to an antistatic effect in some cases.
It may also be used as a mold releasing agent for injection molding, where it gives gloss to some molded parts. It should not be used in cling film formulations using polybutene. Typical concentrations are between 1 and 2 % masterbatch. Oleamides are food-approved for a number of applications as outlined by the FDA & EEC.
