2,2’-(1,2-ethenediyl)bis(4,1-phenylene)bisbenzoxazole. Acts as a optical brightener, fluorescent whitening agent. It is chemically stable and an excellent heat resistant. Possesses good light fastness and low volatility. Benetex® OB-1 creates brilliance by a fluorescence process involving absorption of invisible UV light and emission of visible blue light. It offsets yellowness of a polymer and helps to yield a whiter appearance. Used in polyester and polyamide fibers as well as high temperature engineering plastics, including polycarbonates, polyesters, and polyamides (nylon). Can also be used in styrenic and acrylic polymers.
