SYLVAROS™ DRS 42 Disproportionated Rosin Soap by KRATON is an emulsifier used in SBR polymerization. It is a catalytically disproportionated tall oil rosin potassium soap. It converts abietic acid into the more oxidation resistant dehdroabietic acid isomer. The low abietic acid content minimalizes interaction with the catalyst-initiator system and does not influence the polymer chain length of the SBR rubber.
