Dytek® A (2-Methylpentamethylenediamine) by Invista acts as a chain extender in polyurethane applications. Its derivatives such as secondary amines, aspartic esters, ketoimines and aldimines can be used as curatives in polyurea systems. In polyamides, it acts as a crystallinity disruptor, making polymers more amorphous and slower to crystallize. It offers lower melting point, increased abrasion resistance, improved surface appearance and dye uptake. Dytek® A (2-Methylpentamethylenediamine) reduces gelling, water absorption, melt and quench temperatures.
