Key features of rheology modifiers include their ability to improve the plastic's flow during molding, reduce defects, and enhance the final product's mechanical properties. Used in applications such as injection molding, extrusion, and film production. 

Alternatives include plasticizers and lubricants. Sub-types include thickeners, thixotropic agents, and associative thickeners.

CESA™ Fiber Additives by Avient (Formerly PolyOne) include UV stabilizers, flame retardants, optical brighteners, antimicrobials, antioxidants, anti-static, heat preservation additives, and chain extenders for synthetic fibers. Stain-resistant additive concentrates are the latest addition to its portfolio. They are designed for spun-dyed polyester, polypropylene and polyamide. They provide excellent spinnability and can be combined with colors into a single masterbatch for convenience.<br> <ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>Anti-stain concentrates are formulated without fluorine-based raw materials and can prevent soils from setting in polyester fibers, enabling easy stain removal with common cleaners like wipes, sprays, or steamers.</li> <li>Antimicrobial additive concentrates (organic or inorganic) help protect textiles from stains and odors caused by microbial growth and are used in apparel, sportswear, household furnishings and carpets.</li> <li>Chain extenders provide smoother and more stable processing of recycled PET into fibers, which are used in clothing, automotive textiles and home textiles. <li>Fiber-specific flame-retardant systems are used in automotive textiles, home and office furnishings, clothing and carpeting.</li> <li>Heat preservation additives are suitable for clothing, home textiles and technical fabrics.</li> <li>Light stabilizer systems are recommended for carpeting, upholstery, automotive textiles, artificial turf, sun protection textiles, tents, sun loungers and garden furniture textiles.</li> <li>CESA™ Fiber Additives also consist of concentrates that impart immediate soft touch effect to PP, PES, PA and PLA fibers resist regular washing and are suitable for hygiene articles, clothing, home textiles and carpets.</li> <li>Hydrophobic additive concentrates offer fast and durable water repellency and IPA repellency grade 6 to PP nonwovens, which are used in roofing underlay, cable wrapping, geotextiles, surgical gowns and drapes, sterile tray wraps, hospital bed sheets, curtains and various filtration applications.</li></ul>
