Vazo™ 52 by Chemours is a low-temperature polymerization initiator. It can be used alone or in combination with other free radical initiators.
- It is a substituted zonitrile compound that thermally decomposes to generate free radicals and nitrogen gas.
- It is designed to initiate bulk, solution and emulsion polymerization.
- The rate of decomposition in Vazo™ 52 is first-order and is unaffected by contaminants such as metal ions. It finds applications in other thermoplastic.
- It has a 10-hr half-life in solution at 52°C.
