RHEOBYK® -D 410

Supplied byBYK- Last Updated on Aug 29, 2025

RHEOBYK® -D 410 by BYK is a liquid rheology modifier for medium-polarity solvent-borne and solvent-free systems to generate highly thixotropic flow behavior. It enables PVC plastisols to be manufactured and processed more quickly and improves the anti-settling behavior and antisagging properties.
  • It minimizes flooding and floating in pigmented plastisols and improves the control of the coating profile in the gelling oven.
  • Foam stability is increased in mechanically frothed PVC foams.
  • The recommended level is 0.1-0.5 phr additive (as supplied) based on the PVC resin to prevent settling & floating and 0.3-1 phr additive (as supplied) based on the PVC resin to prevent sagging.
  • In exceptional cases doses of up to 3 phr are possible.
  • {prooduct} is highly suited for preventing sedimentation in filled, reactive casting resin systems such as epoxy, polyurethane and acrylate resins, and also in some polyester resins.
  • Using the additive makes it possible to increase the anti-sagging properties without impairing leveling.
  • Generally, it only increases the viscosity at low shear rates and therefore does not influence the application properties at high shear rates.
  • This is made possible by the creation of a three-dimensional network structure.
  • The time-related network build-up and the resulting thixotropic flow behavior improves the deaerating properties of the system.
  • The recommended level is 0.2-1% additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation to prevent settling and 0.5-2% to increase the anti-sagging properties.
  • It is listed in EINECS, TSCA, DSL, AICS, PICCS, IECSC, ENCS, NZIoC and ECSI.
  • It is in line with EU Directive 2011/65/EC (RoHS 2), EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), EU Directive 94/62/EC (Packaging Waste), CONEG Toxics in Packaging. It complies with REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006.
  • The shelf life of this product is 18 months.
