BYK® -W 980

{.product} by BYK is a wetting and dispersing agent. It reduces viscosity and prevent fillers from settling. It contains 52% of renewable raw materials.

• It is used in ambient curing resin systems and polyester molding compounds.
• It improves the dispersion of all conventional fillers, such as calcium carbonate and aluminum hydroxide.
• It reduces the viscosity of the filled resin, allowing a higher filling level.
• It is especially recommended for unsaturated polyester resins as well as acrylic, polyurethane and epoxy resins, and is highly effective in all areas of application.
• The recommended level is 0.5-1.5% based upon fillers.
• It allows higher filling levels and improves glass fiber wetting.
• In pultrusion applications, the additive improves the wetting and dispersion of fillers, prevents the fillers from settling in the impregnation bath, and improves glass fiber wetting through lowered viscosity.
• It is particularly recommended for HMC polyester molding compounds, wet mat molding and pultrusion applications on the basis of UP/VE, epoxy and acrylic resins.
• The recommended level is 1-2% based upon fillers for HMC molding compounds & wet mat molding and 0.5-1.5% additive for pultrusion applications.
• It is listed in EINECS, TSCA, DSL, AICS, PICCS, IECSC, ENCS, NZIoC and ECSI.
• It complies with REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006.
