XIBOND™ 140

XIBOND™ 140 by aurorium is a styrene and maleic anhydride random copolymer. Acts as an adhesion promoter, coupling agent, compatibilizer and viscosity modifier. It is compatible with high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) resins. Compatibilizers optimize the interfacial tension and morphology against high stresses. As a coupling agent it provides low viscosity, improved creep and tensile properties. The viscosity modification lowers the molding temperature and provides a better surface appearance. It is designed to improve the blend morphology of specific polymer blends. XIBOND™ 140 is suitable for processing by extrusion in all types of regular polymer processing equipment. It is recommended to use twin screw extruders with a mild screw configuration and vacuum degassing facility for good dispersion in styrenic polymer. Recommended dosage level is 1-5 %.
