Akrosorb™ 19480

Supplied byAkrochem- Last Updated on Oct 30, 2020

Akrosorb™ 19480 by Akrochem is an efficient peroxide co-agent for the curing of most elastomeric systems. It is a 75% active dispersion of ethylene glycol di-methacrylate on calcium silicate. It is applicable in high hardness compounds (70 Shore D), that have excellent processability and better elastomeric properties (compression set resistance) than filler or plastic reinforced rubber. In this grade, less peroxide needs to be used to reach an equivalent state-of-cure of a formula using peroxide alone. In Akrosorb™ 19480 adding a higher-level additive, raises modulus, hardness and plasticize the rubber. It is advisable to use a scorch-retarded co-agent like SR 500 or 516 when using high levels of acrylate co-agents. In contrast to other co-agent types, the acrylic resin monomer is useful in all peroxide curable rubbers.
