- It is free of heavy metals, solvents and reactive monomers.
- It is dispersed in a low molecular weight unsaturated polyester resin.
- The unsaturation allows for cross-linking through double bonds as occurs in peroxide-cured polyesters or vinyl esters in the presence of a reactive monomer, such as styrene.
- In addition, the secondary hydroxyl groups provide a means to crosslink the resin with polyisocyanates.
- When cross-linked with or covalently reacted the CF resin is fully converted to a portion of the matrix solids.
