Styrene Suppressants for Plastic Compounds

BYK® -S 760 by BYK is a green, highly effective, all-purpose styrene emissions reducer for all unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resin systems. It contains more than 85% renewable raw materials.

• It reduces the emissions without having any negative influence on the interlaminar adhesion.

BYK® -S 740 N by BYK is a styrene emission suppressant for unsaturated polyester resins. It reduces monostyrene emission in orthophthalic resins by upto 90% for open mold processing techniques.

BYK®-S 750 N by BYK is styrene emission suppressant for DCPD-containing unsaturated polyester resins & isophthalic and vinyl ester resins. The interlaminar adhesion of polyester resin laminates is not affected. It is a combination of waxes with polar components. It is specifically developed as an emission reducer for use in DCPD-containing resins in which BYK®-S 740 is too soluble to create a surface film. The recommended level is 0.3-1% additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation. BYK®-S 750 N is listed in EINECS, TSCA, DSL, AICS, PICCS, IECSC, ENCS, NZIoC and ECSI. It is in line with EU Directive 2011/65/EC (RoHS 2), EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), EU Directive 94/62/EC (Packaging Waste) and CONEG Toxics in Packaging. It complies with REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006. The shelf life of this product is 60 months.

BYK®-S 740 by BYK is a highly effective styrene emission suppressant for unsaturated polyester resins. It reduces monostyrene emission in orthophthalic resins for open mold processing techniques by upto 90%. The interlaminar adhesion of polyester resin laminates is not affected. It is a solution of hydroxypolyesters with paraffin wax. BYK®-S 740 is recommended for isophthalic resins. The recommended level is 0.5-1 % additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation. It is listed in EINECS, TSCA, DSL, AICS, PICCS, IECSC, ENCS, NZIoC and ECSI. It is in line with EU Directive 2011/65/EC (RoHS 2), EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), EU Directive 94/62/EC (Packaging Waste) and CONEG Toxics in Packaging. It complies with REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006. The shelf life of this product is 24 months.

A specially formulated semi-liquid additive which can be easily incorporated into the resin or gel coat to suppress the toxic styrene in the environment. Can be employed in most FRP process applications with a wide range of polyester resins causing no interlaminar bonding problems.
