BYK®-S 740 by BYK is a highly effective styrene emission suppressant for unsaturated polyester resins. It reduces monostyrene emission in orthophthalic resins for open mold processing techniques by upto 90%. The interlaminar adhesion of polyester resin laminates is not affected. It is a solution of hydroxypolyesters with paraffin wax. BYK®-S 740 is recommended for isophthalic resins. The recommended level is 0.5-1 % additive (as supplied) based on the total formulation. It is listed in EINECS, TSCA, DSL, AICS, PICCS, IECSC, ENCS, NZIoC and ECSI. It is in line with EU Directive 2011/65/EC (RoHS 2), EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), EU Directive 94/62/EC (Packaging Waste) and CONEG Toxics in Packaging. It complies with REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006. The shelf life of this product is 24 months.
