SILTEM™ by SABIC is a family of amorphous thermoplastic polyetherimide-siloxane (PEI-Si) copolymer resins that combine the high heat performance of ULTEM™ resin (PEI) with the flexibility of silicone elastomers (Si). The materials’ flexibility makes them an excellent choice for both primary and secondary isolation in wire and cable applications. The materials can also be used in injection molding, profile extrusion, film extrusion, and blow molding.

SILTEM™ Resin HUSTM1600

SILTEM™ Resin HUSTM1600 by SABIC is a PFAS-free, halogen-free (according VDE 0472) flame retardant, flexible polyetherimide (PEI) - siloxane copolymer. It is an amber colored, amorphous, transparent material that can be self-colored and easily processed on conventional equipment. It offers low smoke emission and toxicity. <br> <ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It is designed for corrugated pipes and profiles, wire and cable insulation and tubes. </li> <li>Also offers good processability, chemical resistance, high flow, low corrosivity, and low moisture absorption. </li> <li>Exhibits dimensional stability, high temperature resistance, IR transparency, suitability for thin-wall applications, and excellent dielectric properties. </li> <li>It is suitable for extrusion profile and flexible injection molded parts. </li> <li>SILTEM™ Resin HUSTM1600 is RoHS compliant. </li> <li>It is used in medical devices and pharmaceutical applications.</li> <li>ISCC+ certified renewable bio-based solutions are available for this grade via differentiated color nomenclature.</li></ul>
