Akestra™ 110

by Perstorp (PETRONAS)

Akestra™ 110 by Perstorp (PETRONAS) is an amorphous thermoplastic copolyester. It has the highest glass transition temperature (Tg) and high melt strength in the Akestra™ family. Possesses sparkling glass-like appearance, excellent clarity, excellent hydrolytic stability, heat resistance and high strength. Designed for film & sheet extrusion, blow molding, foams and injection molding applications. Akestra™ 110 by Perstorp (PETRONAS) can be used together with for example recycled PET in co-extrusion or co-injection to create a A/B/A structure (80% R-PET, 20% Akestra™ 110) giving a material, based on 80% recycled material with excellent transparency and a heat resistance up to 85°C ideal for hotfill and hot food serving applications.

Akestra™ 100

by Perstorp (PETRONAS)

Akestra™ 100 by Perstrop is an amorphous thermoplastic copolyester. It possesses sparkling glass-like appearance, excellent clarity and excellent hydrolytic stability. It exhibits good mechanical properties, high heat resistance and high strength. Offers higher mechanical flexibility and impact resistance than Akestra™ 110. It is suitable for film & sheet extrusion, blow molding, foams, injection molding and can also be used in co-extrusion & co-injection with polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Akestra™ 100 is used as a polystyrene alternative for heat resistant thin wall containers, a polycarbonate alternative for durable dishwasher proof transparent products and a glass alternative for hot-fill food containers.

Akestra™ 90

by Perstorp (PETRONAS)

Akestra™ 90 by Perstrop is an amorphous thermoplastic copolyester. It is comparable to PETG in transparency, but has 10°C superior glass transition temperature and 20% higher flexural modulus. It possesses sparkling glass-like appearance, excellent clarity, excellent hydrolytic stability, heat resistance and high strength. It offers best mechanical properties for both cold & hot application and heat deflection temperature (HDT) 11°C above polyethylene terephthalate (PET). It is designed for film & sheet extrusion, blow molding and injection molding applications. Recommended for packaging. Akestra™ 90 can be used as a polystyrene alternative for heat resistant thin wall containers, a polycarbonate alternative for durable dishwasher proof transparent products and a glass alternative for hot-fill food containers.
