EXCEVAL™ RS-1717 by Kuraray is a water-soluble, polyvinyl alcohol. It is manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. It is recommended for paper applications. The shelf life of EXCEVAL™ RS-1717 is 12 months. EXCEVAL™ RS-1713 by Kuraray is a water-soluble ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) copolymer that shows surface activity and stable viscosity. It exhibits good film forming characteristics, solution stability, gas barrier, low moisture absorption, water- and chemical (acid and base) resistance. It offers good adhesion to metal, printability, transparency and gloss properties. It is designed for processing by extrusion. EXCEVAL™ RS-1713 is used in protective colloid for highly water resistant emulsion and barrier-film coatings. EXCEVAL™ RS-2817 SB is a hydrophobically modified polyvinyl alcohol by Kuraray. Exhibits high water resistance and high film forming property. Used for barrier layer of silicon release paper applications. It forms as an excellent gap filler between paper pulp which results in less permeability of liquids. EXCEVAL™ RS-2817 SB offers gas barrier versus oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and organic substances. EXCEVAL™ AQ-4104 by Kuraray is a water-soluble, polyvinyl alcohol. It is manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. EXCEVAL™ AQ-4104 is recommended for paper applications. The shelf life of the product is 12 months. EXCEVAL™ by Kuraray consists of hydrophobically modified polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) products. Its ethylene modified copolymers are water-soluble like standard polyvinyl alcohol and can be processed in conventional conditions.
