Polybutylene adipate terephthalate by Corvay Specialty Chemicals is an environment friendly, biodegradable polybutylene adipate terephthalate (PBAT) polymer that belongs to the family of aliphatic-aromatic copolyesters. It is obtained from the combination of three monomers 1,4-butanediol, adipic acid and terephthalic acid.<br> <ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It exhibits good flexibility, resilience, transparency and gloss making it suitable for applications that require ductility and impact resistance.</li> <li>It provides excellent mechanical performance, good heat resistance and outstanding processability.</li> <li>It can be blended or co-extruded with other polymers to modify its properties and can also be blended with a great quantity of calcium carbonate and starch to produce cost effective products.</li> <li>It is suitable for processing by blown film-, sheet- & fiber extrusion, injection molding and blow molding.</li> <li>It is used in film bags, mulching films, paper coating, labels, 3D printing and packaging applications.</li> <li>Polybutylene adipate terephthalate has a shelf life of 3 years.</li> <li>It is certified by Ok Compost, BPI, ABAM, JBPA, FDA, EU-Food Contact regulations.</li> <li>It is completely compostable according to various international standards and regulations like European standard EN 13432 and American Standard ASTM 6400, which will be eventually biodegraded to carbon dioxide, water and biomass, when metabolized in the soil or compostable under standard conditions.</li></ul>
