Luminy® FOAM 50F by TotalEnergies Corbion is a high melt strength, low carbon, circular PLA grade specifically designed for extrusion, extrusion foaming, extrusion blow molding, film blowing.
  • It is developed as a sustainable, industrial-scale replacement for conventional extruded polystyrene (XPS) foam while maintaining comparable processing characteristics and functional performance.
  • The grade enables stable foam production with uniform cell morphology and low-density foam structures without the need for additional additives, chain extenders or reactive processing.
  • Designed as a drop-in replacement for PS/XPS, it is compatible with existing XPS extrusion lines with minimal modification and maintains processing efficiency and throughput on standard production equipment.
  • It is suitable for fresh food packaging applications, including meat trays, fish trays, food-service packaging such as clamshell containers and bowls, as well as other applicable non-food foam packaging uses.
  • Derived from renewable sugarcane, it is bio-based, industrially compostable, recyclable, and free from styrene, PFAS, and persistent microplastics.
  • Luminy® FOAM 50F is FDA and Korean food-contact approved and provides at least a 70% reduction in carbon footprint compared with XPS foam parts.
