Medalist® MD-53253

Medalist® MD-53253 by Teknor Apex is a clear, high performance thermoplastic elastomer with no animal derived components. Designed as a sustainable alternative to flexible PVC for medical tubing and films. It is also used in clear sheets, hoses, pharmaceuticals, rubber replacement, medical and healthcare applications. It is free from halogen, DEHP, other phthalates, BPA and latex. Possesses good adhesion, good sterilizability, high purity and low specific gravity. Shows resistance to chemical and gamma radiation. Offers low density, medium hardness, ultimate design flexibility and high clarity. It is sterilized with autoclave and ethylene oxide. It provides up to 30% weight savings. It is developed for cold storage bags and pouches which exhibits low-temperature toughness, with brittle points as low as -60°C. This greater toughness introduces the possibility of down-gauging. Medalist® MD-53253 provides excellent processability by cast film extrusion and throughput in extruded tubing. Complies with ISO 10993 Part-5 for biocompatibility, ISO 13485, RoHS, REACH SVHC and Proposition 65. It is made with FDA listed ingredients. It is available in natural and color-matched forms.
