KURARAY POVAL™ 5-82

KURARAY POVAL™ 5-82 by Kuraray is a partially saponified, polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH). It offers minimal blocking tendency even in high air humidity and fast setting after reactivation.

• It is used as a water-activated adhesive raw material. It has uniform chemical structure and shows great adhesion.
• It provides extension of the open time, influence on the rheology, good remoistening properties and high degree of flatness during storage under fluctuating air humidity.
• It can also be used as a protective colloid which can influence the particle size distribution, viscosity, stability to stirring, freeze/thaw stability, pigment compatibility & electrolyte stability.
• It is recommended for gumming of paper on the reverse side (e.g. postage stamps and labels), coatings, envelopes & Jiffy®-type bags.
• It is suitable for modification of emulsion adhesives.
• Aqueous solutions of KURARAY POVAL™ 5-82 can be added to polymer emulsions that are already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol. The shelf life of the product is 12 months.
