KRYSTALFLEX® PE499 by Huntsman is a specialty, optical aliphatic, polyether based thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU) grade, containing adhesion promoter. Exhibits ballistic resistant, low-haze solution, outstanding clarity and good light. Offers low laminating temperatures, warpage, modulus & hardness, excellent laminated transparency and shorter cycle times. Shows chemical compatibility like polycarbonate, moisture- & microbial-resistance, excellent adhesion to acrylic, high elongation, UV resistance and multiple design option. Provides tensile strength, impact resistance and good stability in humid conditions & at extreme temperatures. KRYSTALFLEX® PE499 is plasticizer-free, requires no special storage and is suitable for cooler processing. It can be processed by film extrusion and injection molding. It is used in windows, roofs, prison containment glazing, ballistic, blast & intrusion, physical containments and security barriers in buildings. Recommended for vehicle armoring, retail kiosk, hurricane & vandal glazing, liquid crystal laminates, computer screen, large asymmetrical GCP and thin gauge electronic laminates.
