Nanomed MAX® MX-Nylon (MXD6) by Foster) is a nano reinforced nylon (Polyamide, PA) alloy based on a high strength meta-xylene diamine polyamide (MX nylon). Includes less than 10% by weight platelet-shaped nanoclay particles (aspect ratios in 300:1 to 1500:1 range). Exhibits good resin flexibility, ductility, high rigidity and good surface finish. Can be processed by injection molding and extrusion using standard mold and barrel heaters. Suitable for reusable instruments or components that withstand gamma, e-beam and ethylene oxide sterilization. Recommended for structural medical device components in healthcare. It can be used in structural applications of high temperature polymers including polyetherketone & polyetherimide and multi-layer catheter construction. Nanomed MAX® MX-Nylon (MXD6) is also available in low, medium and high Nanomed® filler loading levels. Complies with United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Class VI for biocompatibility.
