DOW CORNING® C6-165 by DuPont is a class VI rubber silicone elastomer that has been heat-cured and platinum-catalyzed (1:1 by weight). It is a two-part kit that is non-blooming, pigmentable, and affordable. It is made up of silica reinforcement and cross-linked dimethyl and methyl-vinyl siloxane copolymers. It doesn't contain phthalates, chlorophenyls, PCBs, organic plasticizers, peroxides or their byproducts, or latex additives. You can post-cure it. It has a surface that is not sticky and good batch-to-batch uniformity. It is suitable for extrusion processing. It is advised for the creation of medical devices and parts, particularly those that will be implanted in people for 29 days. Meets the requirements of ISO 10993-1 for surface devices, USP (U.S. Pharmacopoeia) Class V, USP (U.S. Pharmacopoeia) Class VI, and US FDA 21 CFR 177.2600. Additionally, DOW CORNING® C6-165 complies with USP (U.S. Pharmacopoeia) tests for cytotoxicity and skin sensitization and EP (European Pharmacopoeia) Monograph 3.1.9 closures and tubing tested for volatile matter and compounds soluble in hexane.
