Styropor® MF312

Supplied byBASF- Last Updated on Feb 6, 2023

Styropor® MF312 by BASF is a general purpose, flame retardant, expandable polystyrene (EPS) grade which contains pentane as a blowing agent. Exhibits low weight, good shock absorption, good thermal conductivity and narrow apparent density distribution. Offers excellent thermal insulation capacity, high compressive strength, outstanding impact absorption and moisture resistance. Designed for processing by pre-expansion, intermediate storage and expansion stages. During the pre-expansion stage, the compact raw material is transformed into closed-cell foam which is characterized by low energy consumption and short cycle times. After an appropriate intermediate storage time, EPS is expanded in conventional block molds to make foams. Styropor® MF312 is recommended for construction, insulating materials, packaging, consumer applications and complies with UL 94 HF1 flame rating.
