Silicone Rubbers for Plastic Parts

Wevosil 23030 by Wevo-Chemie is a classic liquid silicone rubber (LSR). It offers higher strength and excellent mechanical properties, including elongation and tensile strength. After post-curing, the material exhibits good adhesion to substrates such as metals and plastics.

• It is suitable for applications with demanding requirements for long-term stability and temperature resistance.
• Wevosil 23030 is designed for silicone textile coatings and electronics.
• It is used for sealing as cured- or formed-in-place gaskets (CIPG or FIPG) in stacks and bipolar plates for fuel cells and electrolyzers.
• It is also suitable for attaching electronic components to clothing for added functionality.

Wevosil 23010 by Wevo-Chemie is extra-soft, self-adhesive liquid silicone rubber. It combines high elasticity with robustness, offering an elongation and tensile strength. Exhibits good processability, and temperature resistance. Provides good initial adhesion on textiles or polymer surfaces without the need for primers.

• It enables the manufacture of smart textiles, such as protective clothing for firefighters or soldiers, or sportswear with added functionality.
• Wevosil 23010 is designed for silicone textile coatings and sealing applications (CIPG/FIPG).
• It optimizes mechanical properties while ensuring high durability.
• It can also be used to permanently bond a textile layer and an embedded electronic.

ELASTOSIL® eco LR 5003/60 A/B by Wacker is a non-post cure liquid silicone rubber (LSR). It is additionally post-cured to achieve greater strength. It enables cost-efficient and high volume production. It is designed for lifestyle products, drinking straws, baking tins, dough scrapers and other items.

• ELASTOSIL® eco LR 5003/60 A/B is suitable for processing by injection molding.
• It is easily pigment-able two-component grade with very low volatile content.
• It is produced in a resource-efficient manner and stem from plant-based methanol derived from non-fossil sources.
• It is recommended for food, dairy, molded parts and household applications.
• It meets the requirements of BfR and US FDA 21 CFR 177.2600.

Solaris® by Smooth-On is an ultra-transparent, low viscosity, clear, colorless liquid platinum cure silicone rubber. It does not contains any solvents and volatile organic compounds (VOC’s). It can be cured in deep sections or enclosed assemblies without exotherm. Offers protection against shock, vibration, moisture, ozone, dust, chemicals and other environmental hazards. Provides excellent electrical insulation, easy flow, excellent UV resistance and hydrolytic stability. Can be used in high humidity environments and at elevated temperatures. Suitable for potting solar cells for maximum light transmission or electronic assemblies where component identification is required. Solaris® by Smooth-On is mixed 1A:1B solution by volume or weight.

Tufel™ III 92656 by Momentive Performance Materials is a biocompatible, two component vinyl methyl silicone rubber with peroxide-free cure system. Exhibits low compression set, high resilience, excellent permanent set resistance, excellent elastic memory and low volatile bases minimizing porosity. Offers broad processing window, high output rates, tight surface cure, non-blooming, low hysteresis and translucency. Designed for processing by extrusion and calendaring. Tufel™ III 92656 is recommended for fluid & drug delivery tubing, volumetric infusion pumps, enteral pumps, ambulatory pumps, gaskets, seals & valves, and hose/ tubing used in pharmaceutical production, healthcare, chemical/ industrial plants & laboratory peristaltic pumps. Complies with USP Class VI, ISO 10993, UL 94 (HB), BfR recommendation XV “Silicones” and FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 regulations.

ELASTOSIL® N 9189 by Wacker is a non-slump, fully vulcanized, moisture curing, one-part silicone rubber. It is electrically conductive, heat resistant, non-slumping, self-adhesive, shear thinning and uses tin-free catalysis. It exhibits medium hardness shore A and excellent adhesion to many substrates. It cures at room temperature upon exposure to atmospheric humidity and only alcohol is released during curing. It is a non-sag compound that becomes free flowing under shear force. It is used for sealing and bonding applications. It provides long-term stability against weathering, moisture and UV radiation. It is commonly used in the engineering sector and does not require specially pretreated surfaces. ELASTOSIL® N 9189 has applications in the electrical, appliances, automotive, electronics and railway industries.

Tufel™ II 94405 by Momentive Performance Materials is a vinyl methyl silicone rubber with peroxide-free cure system. Exhibits low volatile fast-cure, short cycle time, deep section cures, low extractables and excellent mixed shelf life. Offers high tensile strength, tight surface cure, non-blooming and translucency. Tufel™ II 94405 by Momentive Performance Materials is designed for fabricated molding applications. Complies with USP Class VI, ISO 10993, UL 94 (HB), BfR recommendation XV “Silicones” and FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 regulations.

Tufel™ II 94505 by Momentive Performance Materials is a vinyl methyl silicone rubber with peroxide-free cure system. Exhibits low volatile fast-cure, short cycle time, deep section cures, low extractables and excellent mixed shelf life. Offers high tensile strength, tight surface cure, non-blooming and translucency. Tufel™ II 94505 by Momentive Performance Materials is designed for fabricated molding applications. Tufel™ II 94606 by Momentive Performance Materials is a vinyl methyl silicone rubber with peroxide-free cure system. Exhibits broad processing window, high output rates and LV bases which minimizes porosity & post cure. Offers high tear strength, tight surface cure, non-blooming and translucency. Tufel™ II 94606 by Momentive Performance Materials is designed for extruded tubing, profiles and calendared sheets.
