Purging Compounds for Plastic Parts

IP1851 by Ingenia is a polyethylene masterbatch containing purge agents. It is formulated with scrubbing agents and slip agents to rapidly clean out the system and remove degraded and carbonized polymer. It does not contain any animal-based ingredients, dispersion aids, waxes, or stearates.

• It is suitable for blown film purge, cast film purge, blow molding purge, and injection molding purge applications (not for mold cleaning).
• In blown film applications, the bubble can be maintained during the purging cycle when the product is run neat.
• It is excellent for resin changes, color changes and for use prior to manual clean-up of the system.
• It can also be used prior to preventive maintenance and has excellent thermal stability.
• It is designed for use in LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE applications.
• IP1851 may be used to meet the requirements of Title 21 of the U.S. FDA and CONEG.

IP1866 by Ingenia is a polyethylene masterbatch containing purge agents. It is specially formulated with additives and antioxidants to reduce change-over time and scrap while improving manufacturing on-stream time. The film bubble is maintained during the transition.

• It is designed for use in polyamide and EVOH applications to facilitate the rapid purging of the system.
• It does not contain any animal-based ingredients, dispersion aids, waxes, or stearates.
• It is suitable for blown film polyamide purge, cast film polyamide purge, blown film EVOH purge, and cast film EVOH purge applications.
• IP1866 may be used to meet the requirements of Title 21 of the U.S. FDA and CONEG.

IP1850 by Ingenia is a polyethylene masterbatch containing purge agents. It does not contain any animal-based ingredients, dispersion aids, waxes, or stearates. It is used after purging process equipment with Ingenia’s IP1851.

• It helps reduce oxidized polyethylene remaining in processing equipment during shutdowns and start-ups.
• For optimum results, it is recommended to use the product at 100% concentration.
• It is suitable for blown film purge, cast film purge, blow molding purge, and injection molding purge applications (not for mold cleaning).
• It is designed for use in LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE film and molding applications.
• IP1850 may be used to meet the requirements of Title 21 of the U.S. FDA and CONEG.

CELPURGE NX-A2 by Daicel is an odorless, water-insoluble purging compound. Available as granules. CELPURGE NX-A2 by Daicel is applicable for ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) and PMMA (poly (methyl methacrylate)).

Ultra Purge™ PMMA by Chem-Trend is an odorless, ready-to-use chemical purging compound. Compatible when switching from any resin to PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate). Insoluble in water while soluble in organic solvents. It can be processed using injection molding (hot runners) and extrusion (sheet). Designed for color changes, material changes and carbon build-up. Ultra Purge™ PMMA by Chem-Trend complies with GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) by FDA, TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act), RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances), REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals), DSL (Canada Domestic Substance List), IECSC (the Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances), KECI (Korea Existing Chemicals Inventory) and WGK (German water hazard class).

DYNA-PURGE® D2 by Dyna-Purge is the most versatile and innovative commercial purging compound to scrub, clean and remove contamination effectively, without leaving a residue. A proprietary component is formulated to flow to the boundary layers to flush out the resident resin, while other acts as a pressurizing agent allowing for the purge to reach stagnation points. In addition, an encapsulated fine targets degraded material adhering to the surface. Purgex™ 461 Plus by Neutrex is a purging compound. It is ready-to-use and is recommended for color or material changes and the removal of residual contamination. It is suitable for blown film and ECM multicavity molds. It offers mechanical activity for efficient cleaning and foaming agent for enhanced mixing. It neutralizes acid gases generated by PVC, reduces scrap and machine downtime. It cleans screws, barrels, dies and hot runners. It forms a barrier which prevents oxidation and black spots. It is recommended for LDPE, LLDPE, MDPE, HDPE, PP, mono-film, polyolefins and compostables.

CELPURGE NX-VK2 by Daicel is an odorless, water-insoluble purging compound. It is available as granules. CELPURGE NX-VK2 is applicable for engineering plastics like ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), FR-ABS and PMMA ((poly (methyl methacrylate)).

SUPERNOVA® PLUS HK by Dreychem is a purging compound. It delivers fast color and material changes, helps to reduce material consumption and minimize downtime. It is suitable for polycarbonate (PC), polystyrene (PS), polyamide (PA), acrylonitrile butadiene (ABS), polyoxyethylene (POM), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA).

It is cost effective for cleaning the plastic processing machine.
