Isohexadecane (and) Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer. BELSIL® EG 3000 by Wacker acts as a thickening agent and binder in pressed powder cosmetics. It is an elastomer gel consisting of silicone copolymer network blended with organic solvent, isohexadecane. It is easy to distribute on the skin and gives a smooth, light, and powdery feel.
- It imparts a thixotropic effect, shows good combability with various solvents and is easy to formulate.
- It is a versatile ingredient and added typically to the oil or silicone phase of a formulation especially when formulating O/W formulations.
- It provides a cushiony feel to moisturizing creams, sunscreen lotions, eye gels, foundations, concealers, and BB creams.
- It can be used to thicken the oil phase of emulsions or anhydrous cosmetic formulations.
