Silsurf® B208

PEG-8 Dimethicone. Silsurf® B208 by Siltech is used as a wetting agent and surface tension depressant in various personal care products. It is a silicone glycol copolymer. It provides improvement in emulsion stability, softness and shine/gloss to hair and detangling for wet hair. It also provides hydrophilicity and improved heat stability. It is used in aqueous solution. It can lower the surface tension of a solution to the low 20 mN/m range and interfacial tensions are also lowered. Silsurf® B208 can improve the flow and leveling of the solution. It is effective at very low levels and shows excellent compatibilities in most solvents. It is recommended for conditioning of skin or hair. The shelf life of the product is 36 months when stored under unopened containers between 10 and 40°C.
