Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. ALKOPON® NS by Indorama Ventures Public Company acts as a main surfactant and foaming agent. It is based on lauryl alcohol which is derived from palm kernel oil certified by RSPO. The intermediate is not ethoxylated and the product can be considered dioxane-free and petrochemical-free.
- It acts in synergy with palm kernel oil alkanolamides, sulfosuccinates, ethoxylated sorbitan esters cocamidopropyl betaines to help formulations to obtain high performance, mildness and excellent foam properties.
- It exhibits good detergency, fast wetting, emulsifying properties and thickening power in the presence of electrolytes (NaCl and NH4Cl).
- It should be used above pH 3 to prevent hydrolysis of the sulfate group.
- ALKOPON® NS is used in toothpaste formulas, pearled formulations and cream cleansers.
