Polysorbate 80. ALKEST® TW 80 K by Indorama Ventures Public Company acts as an anti-static agent, co-surfactant, humectant and dispersant/solubilizer of fragrances and oils. It is made up of ethoxylated sorbitan esters derived from the reaction of sorbitol with fatty acids sourced from a vegetable source.
- The presence of the polyoxyethylene chain makes it soluble or dispersible in water, which favors its application in oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions.
- ALKEST® TW 80 K is hydrophilic in nature having high HLB values.
- It is mainly used in skin care, hair care, sun care and bath and shower.
- It is used in body washes, hand soaps, shampoos and for as mild products, such as baby shampoos.
