PEG-80 Sorbitan Laurate. ALKEST® TW 327 by Indorama Ventures Public Company acts as a humectant, anti-static agent, co-surfactant and dispersant/solubilizer of oils and fragrances. It is made up of ethoxylated sorbitan esters derived from the reaction of sorbitol with fatty acids sourced from a vegetable source. It is hydrophilic in nature having high HLB values. The presence of the polyoxyethylene chain makes it soluble or dispersible in water, which favors its application in oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions. ALKEST® TW 327 is used in shampoos, hand soaps, body washes, and mild products, such as baby shampoos.
