Cyclopentasiloxane (and) Cyclotetrasiloxane (and) Dimethiconol. XIAMETER™ PMX-1401 Fluid by Dow is a 13% solution of an ultra-high viscosity dimethiconol fluid in a blend of cyclotetrasiloxane and cyclopentasiloxane. It acts as an emollient, moisturizing- and conditioning agent. The cyclomethicones are blended to prevent freezing and dimethiconol maintains a pourable product. It improves the substantivity of other actives, under both water soaking and soap washing regimes. It is incorporated into skin-care products to provide water repellent and durable films with exceptional spreading characteristics. It imparts soft & velvety skin feel and detackifies greasy formulations. It provides hair conditioning against split ends. It possesses enhanced wet-, dry combing, shine, smooth feel and sensory enhancement. It can be readily emulsified or combined with volatile silicone, mineral oil and cosmetic esters to provide a delivery vehicle for active ingredients such as sunscreens. XIAMETER™ PMX-1401 Fluid finds application in formulating skin creams & lotions, cosmetics, sun-screen & tanning products and hair-care products.
