CHITOFLEX 200™

Chitosan. CHITOFLEX 200™ by Chitelix acts as a film former, emulsifier and stabilizer, humectant, moisturizing, conditioning and protective agent. It is a medium molecular weight, partially deacetylated chitin (natural polysaccharide). It is designed for dermocosmetic and hair care formulations. It is derived from crustacean shells (marine origin).

• It is free from preservatives, antioxidants, solvents and other additives.
• It is compatible with humectants and nonionic/amphoteric systems.
• It provides viscosity and film-forming contribution to formulations, while compatibility with anionic polymers and surfactants should be evaluated.
• It helps improve skin smoothness and hydration while supporting the skin's natural barrier function.
• Its polymer structure enables the formation of flexible, breathable films on skin and hair, providing barrier reinforcement, moisture retention, conditioning benefits, and enhanced formulation stability.
• Its cationic nature provides strong affinity to keratin surfaces, enhancing manageability, shine, and frizz control without compromising flexibility.
• Additionally, CHITOFLEX 200™ contributes to rheological control and emulsion stabilization, making it suitable for use in creams, masks, conditioners, repair treatments, styling products, gels, and other conditioning formulations.
• It has a shelf life of 24 months.
