        Dispersants are clear liquids or fine powders that stabilize and evenly distribute particles in formulations, preventing clumping. They enhance consistency in foundations, sunscreens, and skincare. 

        Popular INCI ingredients in this segment include Polyacrylate copolymers and Lecithin. The shift toward bio-based dispersants is growing. Sub-types cater to oil- or water-based formulations. Regulations focus on stability and ingredient compatibility.

        Crodasinic LS95 is a mild anionic surfactant alternative to sodium laurylsulphate (SLS). Incorporation of SLS into a toothpaste can lead to disintegration of the mucin layer of the mouth by denaturing the proteins of the epithelial cells. The mild properties of Crodasinic LS95 prevent this occurrence. Crodasinic LS95 also offers distinct formulating advantages over SLS in that it is easily dispersible and does not require heating.

          This O/W sunscreen emulsion gives an example of an emulsifying system and stabilizers that are compatible with the use of Zinc Oxide. In order to maximize the UV protection, the sunscreen system is comprised of TNP50T7-ATB, a TiO2 dispersion containing Kobo's patented SPF booster SunBoost ATB and HBQP75FZS, a ZnO dispersion containing Butyloctyl Salicylate, another SPF booster. The sunscreen contains 1,48% of Butyloctyl Salicylate. Lightweight and readily absorbed, this emulsion offers good sensorial properties for a mineral-only system.

            UV Hand Lotion has Zinc Oxide dispersion GC70MZCSG and Titanium Dioxide dispersion HBTN55TIS-EU to give broad spectrum protection.

            • Nusil's CES-1104 is an encapsulated elastomer gel that can be added to the water phase or post emulsification. Upon application the encapsulated CES materials break and offer an initial refreshing feel that is followed by a velvety silicone after feel. 
            • CPF-3300@10cSt and CSF-3100@20cSt, are silicone fluids that can improve spreadability and the formula's feel upon application. 
            • Microspheres MST- 547 and MSS-500/20N add soft focus to the formula and a nice feel when applied. 
            • SunBoost ATB™, a proprietary blend of antioxidant, anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory agents, will help boost SPF and give skin care claims. 
            • Glycosphere Gs-GT Green tea extract, is a free-radical scavenger for anti-inflammatory properties.

              Decorative Cosmetics: Glossy Lipstick

              This castor oil based lipstick has good slip, glide and shine. Kobo's Microsphere, MSS-500/3H, is used to achieve better application and helps to reduce any sweating. Kobo's Pigmentary Dispersions, INBP75ER and INBP45R7C, are used for the high percentage of color. They also help to improve wear and formula aesthetics.

                This Broad Spectrum Oil-in-Water SPF 50 Sunscreen Milk provides sun protection. HallBrite® BHB (Butyloctyl Salicylate) in HallBrite® EZ-FLO TDX contributes a very good dispersion for titanium dioxide. This formula was subjected to in vitro analysis which indicates SPF ~53, PFA (PPD) ~20 performance with critical wavelength 379 nm.

The Silane-treated KTZ® Aruban Coral and KTZ® Ultra Shimmer Pearls give a sparkling effect and also adhere to skin. SF96-20 and ELEMENT14 PDMS 350 are used as binders.
