Butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter is a natural moisturizer that's widely used in cosmetics, bath products, makeup, lotion, and hair care products. It also works as a viscosity-increasing agent. It can be used at concentrations from 1-100%.
- Skin care: It has a rich texture and is also a rich source of antioxidants, including quercetin, epicatechin gallate, gallocatechin, and epigallocatechin, as well as skin-replenishing fatty acids (stearic and linoleic). It is used as an emollient in cosmetics and has smoothing properties for dry skin
- Hair care: In addition to its smoothing capabilities, it is ideal for dry, irritated scalps, due to its hydrating capabilities
