GENIOSIL® XL 10 by Wacker is a vinyltrimethoxysilane. It is a clear, colorless liquid with a characteristic odor. GENIOSIL® XL 10 is used in the production of silane-modified binders for surface coatings. GENIOSIL® XL 70 by Wacker is an alkoxyarylsilane. The silane hydrolyzes in the
presence of moisture (methanol is released) to form silanols, which can then react with themselves to produce siloxanes. GENIOSIL® XL 70 is recommended for flooring installation, waterproofing membranes and do it yourself. Listed on TSCA, DSL, EINECS, ECL, ENCS, AICS, IECSC and PICCS. GENIOSIL® GF 82 by Wacker is a 3-glycidoxypropyltriethoxysilane. Acts as a surface modifier. It is a clear, colorless liquid with a characteristic gasoline-like odor. It is applied as a 0.5-2.5 percent solution (preferably organic) to an inorganic substrate (e.g. metal or glass surfaces) for example by spraying or knife coating. After GENIOSIL® GF 82 has dried and bonded to the surface (post-cure if necessary) coating can be applied using a standard e (e.g. spraying, knife coating). Used in anti-corrosive coatings. GENIOSIL® GF 98 by Wacker is 3-ureidopropyltrimethoxysilane. Acts as an adhesion promoter. It is a clear, colorless to light yellowish liquid with a characteristically aromatic odor. The compound reacts with moisture under hydrolysis of the alkoxy groups and forms silanol, which reacts further forming siloxanes. As a bifunctional amine, it can also interact with numerous organic polymers and thus function as a molecular bridge between organic and inorganic substrates. It is very readily soluble in alcohols, esters and ketones. GENIOSIL® GF 98 is only slightly soluble in n-hexane. GENIOSIL® GF 92 by Wacker is N-cyclohexyl-3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane-based adhesion promoter. It binds via its aminoalkyl group to electrophilic groups in resins and polymers. Aside from groups such as epoxides and esters, it is particularly the isocyanate groups present in polyurethanes. Due to the nature of the amino group, this substance reacts as a strong base. The silane hydrolyzes autocatalytically in the presence of moisture (methanol is released) to form silanols, which can subsequently react with themselves to produce siloxanes or can bind to inorganic substrates. GENIOSIL® GF 92 is recommended for use in coatings. GENIOSIL® GF 95 by Wacker is N-(2-Aminoethyl)-3-aminopropylmethyldimethoxysilane. It acts as an adhesion promoter. GENIOSIL® GF 95 is used in anti-corrosive coatings. GENIOSIL® GF 91 by Wacker is N-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane-based surface modifier and adhesion promoter. Due to the nature of the amino group, this substance reacts as a strong base. The silane hydrolyzes autocatalytically in the presence of moisture (methanol is released) to form silanol, which can subsequently react with themselves to produce siloxanes or can bind to inorganic substrates. As a typical amine, GENIOSIL® GF 91 can also interact with numerous organic polymers and thus function as a molecular bridge between organic and inorganic substrates. It is recommended for interior paints, flooring installation, do-it-yourself and water proofing membranes. Silane-terminated hybrid polymer. Acts as a reactive binder for
especially low viscous, spreadable, rollable or airless-sprayable
formulations. It reacts with moisture to form silanols, which can react further to produce stable siloxane compounds. Offers high mechanical strength and high-modulus formulation feasible. It cures quickly, forming a non-tacky surface and adheres well to a wide range of surfaces. It can be variously formulated to produce compounds of very
different viscosities, suitable for waterproofing of vertical as well as horizontal surfaces, including waterproofing of flat roofs, balconies
and patios, undertile coatings, blocking moisture under floor screeds, waterproofing of interior and exterior basement walls. Alpha-silane-terminated polyether. It contains high density crosslinkable silyl groups which cure to a tight-mesh network that is very strong but elastic. It is tear resistant. It has low viscosity and is easy to process at low temperatures. It is highly ductile and will tear only when subjected to strong forces. It represents the first technically equivalent alternative to conventional polyurethane-based systems. It can be formulated without fillers to make transparent, tin-free end products that have good mechanical properties. Used in coatings. GENIOSIL® GF 56 by Wacker is a vinyltriethoxysilane. It is a clear, colorless liquid with a characteristically aromatic odor. It hydrolyzes in the presence of moisture (ethanol is released) to form silanols, which can then react with themselves to produce siloxanes. GENIOSIL® GF 56 by Wacker is used in the production of silane-modified polymers that serve as binders in paints and anti-corrosive coatings.
