Low VOC, film forming agent. Improves the application properties of the paint through improved workability and longer open time over a range of application conditions. It does not negatively affect other key paint properties such as water resistance, wet adhesion, block resistance and stability. Because the impact of OT1200 is in the early stages of film formation, it will not affect dry time or recoat time of the paint. OT1200 can be substituted for volatile glycols, giving a substantial reduction in the VOC content while improving the application feel and workability of the paint. The additive helps meet a global need of architectural paint formulators to develop compliant solutions without compromising performance. It is non-HAP, non-SARA and REACH compliant. In regions defining VOC by a boiling point of 250°C, Eastman Optifilm™ additive OT1200 contains <1% VOC. In the US, the VOC content of OT1200 is 7%, as determined by an outside lab using the ASTM D2369 volatility less water (ASTM D4017) and ammonia. Very low VOC, low odor coalescent that is compatible with a variety of latex types. It is an efficient coalescent that aids in the development of latex paints that have a good balance of performance properties. Eastman Optifilm™ enhancer 400 delivers excellent film integrity, touch-up properties, and scrub resistance, even at the lowest VOCs content. Paints prepared with Eastman Optifilm™ enhancer 400 have also demonstrated good exterior durability after one year exposure. It can also be blended with other coalescents such as Texanol™ Ester Alcohol or Eastman™ EEH glycol ether to further optimize the balance of low VOC content and paint performance. It is readily biodegradable, stable in low to high pH coatings, compatible with solventborne acrylic resins and improves the flexibility as well as adhesion of coatings based on these resins. This product is non-phthalate and is not listed on HAP or SARA 313. Used in architectural coatings, general industrial coatings, industrial maintenance and marine coatings, industrial wood coatings, can and coil coatings. Eastman Optifilm™ Enhancer 300 is a coalescent by Eastman. It offers excellent compatibility, easy incorporation, cost reduction and excellent hydrolytic stability. It provides broad selection of properties to meet formulation needs. Eastman Optifilm™ Enhancer 300 is particularly suitable for low-odor flat and low-sheen wall paints. It is recommended for can & coil coatings, architectural, general industrial, factory applied wood, transportation and protective marine coatings. It is also suitable for flexographic, gravure and screen inks. It complies with REACH.
