Polyvinyl butyral dispersion. Provides excellent resistance to water, heat and sunlight. Forms tough and light transparent films. Develops full strength properties when cast and dried at room temperature. Offers excellent flexibility, toughness and transparency. It is an aqueous plasticized liquid dispersion. Adheres well to many surfaces. Recommended for producing textile finishings, grease-proof and washable wallpaper coatings and paper coatings. Used in decorative, protective or temporary coatings for metal, wood, glass and other materials also. Butvar® B-90 by Eastman is a thermoplastic, polyvinyl butyral resin with a broad solubility range. It helps in minimizing cratering and improving coating uniformity. It provides improved adhesion, toughness and flexibility. It retains the clarity of the coating, enables good wetting of the substrates and offers reactive hydroxyl sites for crosslinking with thermoset systems.
It exhibits anti-corrosive properties, apply easier, adhere better and dry faster.
It offers good holdout, moisture resistance and impact resistance. Protects wood substrates against discoloration.
It shows excellent barrier to bleeding of terpenaceous matter from knots, heartwood and rosin ducts.
It is used as a binder for inks, toners and reprographic coatings, wash primers and general wood or metal coatings. Polyvinyl butyral (PVB) resin. Helps in minimizing cratering and improving coating uniformity. Provides improved adhesion, toughness and flexibility. Retains the clarity of the coating, enables good wetting of the substrates and offers reactive hydroxyl sites for crosslinking with thermoset systems.
