DBE-IB by DuPont is a high-boiling, oxygenated solvent comprising a refined mixture of diisobutyl adipate, glutarate, and succinate. Used as a solvent and coalescent aid in waterborne and solventborne coatings and solvent-based printing inks. Offers low vapor pressure, very low toxicity, biodegradability, very good thermal and hydrolytic stability, ability to dissolve many resins and very low odor. Extends open time. Gives good abrasion resistance and low toxicity. DBE-IB improves leveling and pinhole resistance.
