Amorphous, low molecular weight, imide-extended bismaleimide oligomer. Exhibits excellent low pH hydrolytic resistance and thermal stability. It can be homo-cured via UV or free radical initiators to form tough, hydrophobic, cross-linked polyimides. Forms room-temperature-stable solutions in a variety of free radical reactive diluents. It is soluble in many common solvents such as toluene, xylene, NMP, etc. Listed in TSCA.
PEM -665 by Designer Molecules has low color and low cure shrinkage. Exhibits good thermal stability and hydrolysis resistance. Possesses low CTE, high Tg, and high modulus. PEM -665 is not based upon a bisphenol A backbone and therefore does not have the potential to act as an endocrine disruptor. Shows good solubility in both aliphatic and aromatic co-monomers. Recommended for use as a base resin in dental applications and low CTE thermosets.
PEAM -645 by Designer Molecules exhibits low CTE, high Tg, and high modulus. Possesses good adhesion on various substrates, very high thermal stability, low volatility and good hydrolytic stability. It has good solubility in both aliphatic and aromatic co-monomers. PEAM -645 shows brittleness, if used alone and the incorporation of a toughener (such as ABS, or hyperbranched polyester) is recommended.
