Thixotropic bentonite thickener. Shows wide pH range tolerance and chemical stability with cosolvents. Used in mid to high PVC architectural coatings, texture coatings, and stuccoes. Montmorillonite clay. Improves hold-out, hiding and wet edge properties. Controls settling and syneresis. Used to compete against attapulgite thickeners in water-based coatings and other aqueous systems. Calcium bentonite. Provides excellent holdout without a significant increase in viscosity and improves setting and syneresis. Used in water-based paints and coatings.
