CYCAT® 4040 catalyst by allnex is a fast cure para-toluene sulfonic acid-based catalyst. It is designed to initiate and accelerate the reaction of amino crosslinking agents, such as those based on melamine and urea formaldehyde. CYCAT® 4040 catalyst is used in printing inks, solvent- & water-borne conversion varnishes for wood, general industrial, paper and exterior can coatings. It is suitable for 2K ambient cure or low bake systems. It offers excellent formulated package stability and reduces energy requirements. Recommended dosage level is 0.5 % catalyst solution. The shelf life of the grade is 720 days.

CYCAT® 4045 by allnex is amine blocked para-toluene sulfonic acid catalyst. It is recommended for accelerating the cure response of amino cross-linking resins while providing improved formulation package stability. It is suggested for use with highly alkylated amino crosslinking resins. This product provides excellent stability in high solids and waterborne systems, and in the latter it can be added without causing binder precipitation, which can often occur due to a drop in pH. It minimizes film wrinkling. It is designed for general industrial finishes, automotive basecoats, coil- and exterior can coatings. The shelf life of CYCAT® 4045 is 720 days at 32°C.

CYCAT® 500

CYCAT® 500 by allnex is a strong acid catalyst based on dinonylnaphthalene disulfonic acid. It accelerates the cure between hydroxyl, carboxyl, and amide functional groups with alkylated amino crosslinking agents. It is used in electrocoating applications to achieve cure in the range of 110-135°C in 15-30 minutes, or to reduce the baking time at higher baking temperatures.<br> <ul style="padding-left: 40px;"><li>It is suitable for coatings applied by other application techniques, offering improved adhesion and resistance properties compared with other sulfonic acid catalysts.</li> <li>It exhibits high electrical resistivity and reduced energy requirements, with no decrease in electrocoat bath stability.</li> <li>CYCAT® 500 is designed for primers, coil coating finishes, high solids systems and electrostatic spray systems.</li> <li>The recommended dosage level is 1-3%.</li> <li>It has a shelf life of 730 days.</li></ul>
