Binders for Coatings and Inks

DEGALAN® LP 64/12 distributed by DKSH is a versatile binder methacrylates. It exhibits weather- and chemical resistance and lightfastness.

• It is used in UV-printing inks, aerosol, marine & container coatings, primers, impregnations, exterior house-, masonry- and road marking paints.
It is blendable with alcohol and possesses good adhesion to various substrates such as plastics, paper, textiles and metal.
• It is also designed for penetrating primers, concrete- and protective coatings.
• It is compatible with most PVC copolymers, PS, PC, PMMA, ABS, ester-soluble nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber, plasticizer, cellulose acetobutyrates/ acetopropionate and partly compatible with alkyd and epoxy ester resins.
• It has a shelf life of 5 years.

EBECRYL® 436 by allnex is a reactive chlorinated polyester resin diluted 40% with the reactive diluent trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA). It exhibits good lithographic behavior, pigment wetting properties and fast cure response in ultraviolet light (UV) curable coatings and inks. Cured films of EBECRYL® 436 display good adhesion to metals, plastics and paper. It is recommended for wet lithographic inks for paper, plastics and metals, overprint varnishes and post-formable inks.

Parmetol® A 26 N distributed by DKSH acts as a preservative. It is a stabilized aqueous preparation based on chloromethyl-/methylisothiazolone (CMI/MI) and reaction product of ethylene glycol, urea and paraform. It has characteristic odor and contains only biodegradable components. It is suitable for a broad range of water-based formulations.

• It offers a broad and balanced spectrum of effects against bacteria, yeast and mold.
• It is suitable for use in textured coatings and plasters.
• The recommended dosage level is 0.10-0.20% and pH range is 3-9.5.
• Parmetol® A 26 N has a shelf life of 36 months and is available in Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Spain and Thailand.

DEGALAN® 64/12 N distributed by DKSH is a granulated polymer based on methacrylates. It is versatile binder for concrete- and thick-layer metal coatings. It exhibits weather- and chemical resistance and lightfastness.

• It is used in marine & container coatings, primers, impregnations, exterior house- and road marking paints and plastic coatings.
• It is compatible with most PVC copolymers, nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber, plasticizer, cellulose acetobutyrates/acetopropionate and partly compatible with alkyd and epoxy ester resins.
• DEGALAN® 64/12 N has a shelf life of 5 years and is available in Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg.

MARNEX™ AH448 by Macroocean is a high molecular weight, saturated linear polyester resin. It shows excellent adhesive strength to steel, aluminum foil, PET or PVC films. Also, better adhesion and film strength can be achieved while cross-linked with melamine or blocked isocyanate curing agents. This grade offers heat seal properties, flexibility, good processibility and no sticky problem during transportation. It can be dissolved in ketone, ether or esters type of solvents, such as isophorone, acetone, MEK, CYC, DBE & EA. And it is usually dissolved with aromatic solvents, such as 100# & 150#. MARNEX™ AH448 is recommended for interior can coating and screen printing & gravure inks. It complies with FDA 175.300 (only for non-alcoholic goods) and 175.105. The shelf life of this product is 24 months.

VISCOPOL™ 6191 by allnex is a low-foaming, fast-drying and anionic styrene acrylic copolymer emulsion. It exhibits excellent water and grease-resistance, excellent gloss and adhesion properties and has excellent mechanical shear stability. It also shows excellent pigment wetting and good block resistance coupled with wide solvent tolerance. VISCOPOL™ 6191 is particularly recommended for use in water-based flexographic & gravure printing inks, overprint lacquers and paper & board-coating applications. It is also highly recommended for use in the formulation of anti-corrosive metal primers. It has a shelf life of 12 months.

EBECRYL® 600 by allnex is a low VOC diacrylate ester of bisphenol A epoxy resin. It provides light color and fast cure response.

• Films cured via exposure to ultraviolet light (UV) or electron beam (EB) possesses high surface hardness and gloss and excellent chemical resistance.
• It reduces energy consumption and exhibits low carbon foot print, good compatibility, low flammability and long potlife.
• It is a radiation curable, solvent- and tin free grade.
• EBECRYL® 600 is recommended for lithographic and screen inks, overprint varnishes and fast cure coatings.
• It is also used in coatings for paper, paperboard, wood, chipboard and rigid plastics.

Lacper® 4507 by Wanhua Chemical is a self-crosslinking acrylic copolymer emulsion. It shows high transparancy, excellent in-can and dry-film clarity because of its small particle size.

• It exhibits good film hardness, fast drying speed, good sandability and excellent chemical resistance.
• It has good adhesion to a variety of substrates such as wood, plastics such as ABS, PC and PVC.
• Lacper® 4507 contains no APEO, formaldehyde and its derivative.
• This waterborne resin is recommended for interior, exterior, primer sealer, midcoat, basecoat, clearcoat, topcoat, wood and plastic applications.

EPON™ Resin 1007F by Westlake Epoxy is a moderately high molecular weight solid epoxy resin derived from a liquid epoxy resin and bisphenol-A. It provides outstanding flexibility, adhesion, very good resistance to chemicals and solvents. It offers unique melt viscosity characteristics to powder coatings.

• It is used as a vehicle in high performance industrial baking finishes in combination with urea formaldehyde or phenol-formaldehyde resins.
• It is also used in amine or polyamide cured two package coatings, reacted with vegetable oil acids, isocyanate curing agents to produce epoxy resin esters and urethane coatings.
• EPON™ Resin 1007F is suitable for use in the linings for metal containers, appliance primers, metal furniture finishes, clear coatings for brass hardware and cosmetic cases.
• The shelf life of this product is 5 years.

Parmetol® A 28 S distributed by DKSH is an in-can preservative. It is a water-based combination of chloromethyl-/methylisothiazolone (CMIT/MIT) and bronopol. It has a reduced risk of contact allergy at normal use concentration. It is suitable for a broad range of water-based products.

• It shows enhanced efficacy especially against Pseudomonas sp.
• It is free of VOC, organic solvents and N-/O-formals.
• It is used in dispersion paints, textured coatings and plasters.
• It contains only biodegradable components and is fully effective in cationic, anionic and non-ionic systems.
• The recommended dosage level is 0.10-0.20% and pH range is 3-8.5.
• Parmetol® A 28 S has a shelf life of 24 months and is available in Australia, Cambodia, New Zealand, Philippines, Spain and Thailand.
