SYNTRAN® AC 5917 by Zschimmer & Schwarz is a surfactant-free, multiphase, self-crosslinking acrylic polymer. It possesses a very fine particle size and is clear in the can and in wet paint. The polymer film exhibits excellent transparency even at high film thicknesses (400-500 µm wet film). It is used in joinery coatings, glossy to low-gloss industrial- & decorative coatings for wood, PVC, aluminum and various dimensionally stable substrates.
- It offers anti-blocking, low-foaming, excellent water resistance and good adhesion & wetting of substrates.
- It is easy to formulate and provides optimized ratio between flexibility & hardness.
- It displays very good compatibility with PUD binders and other hard acrylics with high MFFT to reduce VOC content in exterior applications.
- SYNTRAN® AC 5917 is suitable for outdoor and indoor coatings with extremely low water absorption.
- It has a shelf life of 6 months.
