Dibutyltin oxide. FASCAT® 9201 by PMC Group acts as a crosslinking catalyst. It is insoluble in water and most common organic solvents. It is an active transesterification catalyst for methacrylate esters. It offers energy savings due to lower reaction temperatures, as well as more efficient use of equipment. Used in select high temperature transesterification reactions for the production of coating resins. It forms a stable dispersion for aqueous coating applications and can significantly shorten transesterification production cycle times for specialty acrylate monomers. Can be used in the coatings industry for the preparation of alkyd resins. Also finds significant use in the aqueous cathodic electrodeposition of urethane coatings for automotive and industrial applications.
