FASCAT® 9102 by PMC Group is a hydrolytically stable, butyltin tris-2-ethylhexanoate. It is used to catalyze esterification and polycondensation reactions at temperatures 210-240°C. This catalyst is used in the synthesis of saturated polyester resins for powder coatings and coil coatings. Also, used in the in the production of aromatic polyester polyols for flexible and rigid PU foam applications. It can be used in transesterification reactions at temperature ranging from 80-150 °C. FASCAT® 9102 can be used as a catalyst in the production of cross-linked polyester resins for food contact articles intended for repeated use under 21 CFR Sec. 177.2420(b)3. It offers short esterification cycle times and minimizes side reactions such as dehydration and oxidative degradation of polyhydric alcohols (secondary).
