Terachem® 53-2371 by Pflaumer Brothers is a proprietary, formulated dispersion of nano-aluminum oxide that can improve the mar and scratch resistance of 2K polyaspartic coatings. It is blended into the polyaspartic amine component, Part A. It improves mar and scratch resistance at very high loadings with minimal effect on gloss, clarity, shade, and viscosity in systems tested.
- It reduces the quantity of both resin and hardener in polyaspartic formulation resulting in a corresponding reduction in raw material cost.
- It can improve hardness and toughness.
- It has no effect on recoatability at relatively high levels of use.
- Terachem® 53-2371 is useful for a variety of applications, including wood, concrete, composites, and metal.
- Recommended dosage level is 10-20% by weight for the product based on total resin solids.
