LAVIOSA ARGIMEL® S4 by Laviosa Minerals is a rheological additive for solvent-borne systems of low to medium polarity. It is an activated bentonite clay organically modified with a quaternary alkylammonium compound. It offers thixotropic effect, sag control, excellent levelling and prevents pigments from long-term storage settling.
- It shows good performance in solvents like aliphatic mineral spirits and aromatics.
- It can be incorporated by direct addition technique and pre-gel technique.
- It is used in oil-based paints (either industrial or architectural), marking paints, road marking paints and printing inks.
- Recommended dosage level is 0.2-0.6% for paints and industrial finishes, 0.5-1.0% for primers and printing inks and upto 3.0% for anti-sagging properties.
- Shelf life of LAVIOSA ARGIMEL® S4 is 3 years.
