LAVIOSA ARGIMEL® ED by Laviosa Minerals is a self-activating and dispersible rheological additive for low to medium polarity solvent-borne paint and coatings. It is a bentonite clay, organically modified with a quaternary alkylammonium compound. It offers thixotropic effect, sag control, excellent levelling and prevents pigments from long-term storage settling.
  • It shows good performance in solvents like aliphatic mineral spirits and aromatic solvents.
  • It is compatible with low polarity binders like alkyds, terpenes and petroleum derivatives.
  • It can be incorporated by direct addition technique and pre-gel technique.
  • It is used in oil based paints (either industrial or architectural), anti-corrosive paints, road marking paints, primers, bituminous emulsions and wood paints.
  • Recommended dosage level is 0.2-0.8% for paints & industrial finishes, 0.5-1.0% for primers & printing inks and upto 3.0% for anti-sagging properties.
  • Shelf life of LAVIOSA ARGIMEL® ED is 3 years.
