ESACOTE® PU 40 by Lamberti is a multipurpose, low-VOC, anionic, water-borne dispersion of an aliphatic polyurethane based on polyester diols. It is used as a binder for clear and pigmented coatings. It forms tough, transparent and glossy films. It provides mechanical- & chemical resistance, good intercoat adhesion, good elasticity on flexible substrates, and good adhesion properties on hard to adhere substrates.
- It is recommended for flexo- & rotogravure lamination inks due to its high lamination strength and good compatibility with pigmented pastes.
- In metal coating formulations, it is used as a primer on different substrates (galvalume, galvanized iron, aluminum or cold rolled steel) when overcotability and elasticity are required.
- In wood coatings, it is used as a flexibilizer co-binder when elasticity is required.
- It can be used with water dispersible polyisocyanates, melamine resins, polyaziridines or carbodiimides crosslinkers to enhance the overall properties.
- ESACOTE® PU 40 has a shelf life of 12 months.
